​Skål Seattle Increases Support of Washington State University Carson School of Business "SKAL International Seattle David Kellogg Scholarship"

 

Seattle, Wash., May 10, 2017 — SKAL International Seattle members and travel industry donors continue to support the “SKAL International Seattle – David Kellogg Scholarship”, which benefits young people from Washington State, with their education in hospitality & tourism.
 
Spokesperson for SKAL International Seattle, Chairperson Scholarship Fund, George Howell said; “SKAL International Seattle has been a supporter of tourism education for many years. We recognize the stature and good work, WSU Carson School of Business, is doing through its Hospitality and Tourism program, and want to support them, to help educate our youth.”
 
Through continued contributions by Members and Travel Industry donors, the scholarship endowment has reached $31,000.00. At the current endowment level, the WSU scholarship awards $1,000.00 annually to a student. Howell said: “Our goal is to increase the principle endowment fund to $50,000, which will then enable the fund to support Two Annual Scholarships of $1,000 each.
 
Howell said; “ We are working with individual donors and travel industry corporations to support the scholarship fund. Every donation helps. We want to let everyone in the travel industry and beyond know, that it’s easy to donate”. Donors can go online to the WSU Foundation Online Giving Form and make donations to support young people’s higher education.
 
The WSU – Carson School of Business, Hospitality program is recognized as one of the top schools of its type in the United States. The SKAL International David Kellogg Scholarship is managed by WSU and qualifies under federal regulations for 501(c)3 eligibility.
